Our History1995 - Millenia Resource Consulting is established as a partnership by Jeff Scott, Tim Olsen and Ric Ewasiuk.  This same year, the company wins its first EPC contract: a $2M NGL recovery project for Gulf Canada Resources Ltd. at the Brazeau Gas Plant.  This began the tradition of design innovation and project development excellence Millenia Resource Consulting is known for today for growth into the new millennium.

- The company grew to 10 staff and partners with a network of contract engineering specialists. The company's first move from a modest 900 sq ft space to a 2,400 sq ft office happened early in 1996.  Despite the slow year in the Western Canadian oil patch, Millenia Resource Consulting completed a wide variety of projects involving facilities and pipelines.  Projects included sour gas, conventional and heavy oil applications.

- A growth year for Millenia Resource Consulting saw the company expand to over 40 personnel, including five (5) partners, staff and contractors.  An indication of the company's depth came with the completion of the 2000m3 capacity expansion of the heavy oil facility at PanCanadian's Pelican Lake Complex. This $20M project was completed EPCM in 13 months from conceptual design to start up.  Additionally, Millenia completed NGL projects for Ulster Petroleum Ltd. at Wimborne, Nevis Ltd. at Fenn, as well as engineering for Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. Brintnell heavy oil gathering system.  This year also saw the addition of an electrical/instrumentation and controls group to the company.

- Millenia Resource Consulting signed a 5-year lease for a 8,000 sq ft office at 12th Avenue and 5th Street SW, showing our commitment to the oil and gas industry in Western Canada. This year saw the successful completion of the PanCanadian Pelican Lake expansion as well as the $4M Debottleneck and Plant Turn Around for Ulster Petroleums Ltd.

- MRC completed a variety of projects, concentrating on plant de-bottlenecking, satellite installations and compressor installations.  MRC successfully installed Canada's first stand-alone microturbine for power generation.  New environmental regulations and impending electrical de-regulation has introduced new technologies that Millenia has now begun to utilize.

- Millenia continues to grow internally with the installation of new networking peripherals.  Projects included design, fabrication and startup of Burner Management System;  full design of high pressure water injection, CO2 injection, oil treating plant debottlenecking and pipeline/satellite gathering system; design and installation of dehydration and sour gas compression systems.

- Another growth year for Millenia with personnel totaling over 50, including staff and contractors. Despite this growth, MRC has maintained its effective but simple design strategies crafting facilities that work and are easy to understand, operate, and maintain. MRC maintained budget, schedule and strong relationships while completing a variety of projects. These included Free Water Knock-Outs, Oil Battery upgrades, Sweet/Sour Gas Facility upgrades, High Pressure Water Injection systems and Production pipeline and satellites. MRC demonstrated their depth when completing projects ranging from a New Sour Gas Plant, New and Expanded Sweet/Sour Gas Compression/Dehydration facilities, and various New Blending and Truck Loading/Off-Loading facilities. MRC also worked on various studies including CO2 Injection, Plant Balance Metering, Guide 60 (flaring practices), Co-Generation and Electrical Sub-Station opportunities.

- MRC continues its history of successful execution of various projects for a variety of clients while maintaining budget and schedule in a challenging year. Projects included an NGL Fractionation Train Study, a 2,000m3 Produced Water Tank, a Co-Generation Facility, Oil Batteries, Water Injection facilities and Production pipelines and satellites, Flare and Fuel Gas Reduction projects, Regulatory and Plant Optimization work, as well as various proposals and studies. Millenia oversaw installations of new facilities as well as upgrades in existing and operating facilities. MRC further developed strong client relationships, collaborating with both management and operations groups.

- In a year with reduced activity in the oil and gas industry in North America, Millenia was able to execute numerous successful projects and retain a strong core staff. Projects included various studies from plant optimizations, FEEDs, fugitive emission studies, the engineering, procurement and construction support for several oil battery de-bottlenecks, water injection facilities, over 500 km of pipelines and seven compressor stations. Millenia developed and implemented a web-based client portal to better serve its clients in the electronic information age.

– Saw increased activity in the Oil and Gas Industry in North America. With the increased activity level, Millenia Resource Consulting expanded its core staff to 45. Millenia relocated to a new office space located in the Belt line district, allowing easy access to our valued clients. During the course of the year, Millenia executed numerous projects ranging from Plant Turndown Studies, Sulfinol to MDEA Conversions to Solution Gas Gathering and Treating. EP Projects included AG Injection, Plant De-bottleneck, single and multiwell tie-ins, gathering and compression projects, water flood pipelines, battery upgrades, as well as an Acid Gas EOR project utilizing high pressure production pipelines.

– With the continued increased activity in the oil and gas industry, Millenia Resource Consulting expanded its staff to over 70. EP and EPCM Projects continued with plant debottlenecks, single and multiwell tie-ins, pipeline gathering systems and compression projects, water flood pipelines, battery upgrades, acid gas EOR, as well as a $20MM CO2 injection project in Southeast Saskatchewan. Millenia continues to update its systems, procedures, and safety program to better serve our clients.

– The sustained activity in the oil and gas industry has kept Millenia's staff to over 60. EP and EPCM projects continued with plant de-bottlenecks, single and multi-well tie-ins, pipeline gathering systems, compressor projects, water flood pipelines, battery upgrades, acid gas EOR and a LPG facility. Millenia had developed a Project Database to track regulatory issues and status for pipelines and processing facilities.

– Millenia maintained approximately 60 staff in 2007. The core of Millenia's work continued with EP and EPCM projects associated with single and multi-well oil and gas well tie-ins, pipeline gathering systems, compressor projects, oil batteries, etc. Millenia had also provided the design services for two (2) main pipeline booster pump facilities and had provided the design and construction management services for a CO2 injection compressor facility.

– Millenia continued to expand to a staff of 70 in 2008 to meet our client's increased activity levels. The company worked on several EOR projects throughout Western Canada, as well as single and multi-well programs, gathering systems, and oil and gas facilities. Millenia provided front-end engineering design services and estimates for a major oil pipeline system expansion in Southeast Saskatchewan. This included upgrades to six (6) pipeline terminals, an upgrade to a pump station and installation of two (2) new pump stations and 120km of new pipelines.

– With the slowdown in the industry, Millenia was able to retain its core staff and provided our clients with high quality service. Millenia continued work on EOR projects, single and multi-well programs, gathering systems, and oil and gas facilities. Millenia provided engineering and procurement services for the addition of a 2000 e3m3/d amine plant complete with acid gas injection compressor to a gas plant north of Fox Creek, Alberta.
